Symptoms of decreasing hormone levels that many men experience as they age.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (bHRT) for men can help.
A bioidentical form of testosterone injected into the thigh or upper arm daily. It uses a tiny, insulin-style subcutaneous needle and is virtually painless.
A bioidentical form of testosterone rubbed into the groin area twice daily. It is the testosterone form recommended by our medical director.
Both plans include desiccated thyroid, an all-natural, bioidentical thyroid medication. Healthy thyroid levels are imperative to see the best results from your hormone therapy.

A. The most common cause of hair loss is genetic. Men and women can inherit the gene for hair loss from either or both parents. Men are most commonly affected by the inherited gene as the hormone, testosterone, is converted to Dihydrotestosterone by alpha 5 reductase, and as we know men have much more testosterone than women. There is currently no known method of stopping this type of hair loss also known as androgenic alopecia. The age of onset, extent, and rate of hair loss vary from person to person. Severe illness, malnutrition, or vitamin deficiencies can also accelerate this process.
A. Yes. The transplanted hair is removed from one area of the body (donor site) and transferred to another (recipient site) where it will continue to grow for life. Hair transplants work well in over 80% of cases and moderately well in 15% of cases.
A. Your postoperative expectations will depend on how well you adhere to the instructions provided after surgery. Small scabs will form on the scalp at the hair graft implant sites. Usually, these scabs fall off naturally in 4-7days. You should never pick at them or remove them before they are ready to fall off on their own. Shampooing can be resumed 24 hours after surgery under gentle water, not high pressure. A baseball type cap can be worn at any time after surgery and should be worn somewhat loosely to avoid putting pressure on the scalp. You should also avoid physically strenuous activity for at least six days after surgery. Typically the transplanted hair will shed in 2-4 weeks. New growth will begin in 3-4 months and length will increase approximately 1/2 inch per month.
A. Most people do not report any significant level of pain. Some discomfort is to be expected as the anaesthetic is injected into the scalp, very similar to the pain associated with a dental anaesthetic injection. Once the skin is anaesthetized, there should be no further pain. If the numbing medicine wears off during the course of the procedure, more is injected to anaesthetize the area further.
